Everything goes back to music for me; there is a song for every situation.  And I finally found one that explains the “moocher” class that has grown in this country.  Welfare, foodstamps, Medicaid, affirmative action, WIC, government cheese.  All seems to be beneficial, they are helping out the disadvantaged, the unfortunate, until they can get back on their feet.

But that isn’t the way it works.  What really happens is that they are stuck, bound, chained into a life of dependence.  It’s a life from which they cannot escape and that they believe they deserve.

How do they get out of the chains that bind them?  It’s very difficult, especially if their dependence has been going on for years, even generations.  We help people with other addictions.  There are 12-step programs and interventions to get them out from under the monkey on their back.  But we are not doing anything to get them off the dole.  And they don’t see any way out.  Why?

They owe their souls to the company store.

A special thank you to my husband, who spent 21 years in the Air Force. The life of a military member (and wife and family) is not always easy, but our country is worth it.

A student group called Young Americans for Liberty set up a memorialyesterday, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.  Located on the grounds of Washington University in St. Louis, Missourie, they created a gulag camp complete with prisoners, barbed wire, and guards.

They hoped to bring attention to the suffering caused by socialism, and the 150,000,000 deaths it caused in the 20th century.

“We’re hoping to elevate the thinking of students about the connection between socialism, tyranny, and murder,” said Dirk Doebler, lead organizer of the event. ”Too often, we tend to think about state control in the abstract. This event is an opportunity to show the student body what socialism really is.”

The university said the display was too offensive and shut them down.

The students obviously were *mistaken* with their facts.  Don’t they know socialism is good, and Reagan had nothing to do with the fall of the wall?  Credit is now being given to Mikhael Gorbachev for being such a skilled negotiator.

Keep it up students, and may others follow your lead!

Because public schools aren’t indoctrinating our kids early enough:

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised, coming from a grouch that is funded by government money.

When viewed from the very beginning, the press conference Obama held to decry the violence at Ft. Hood is nothing short of bizarre.  He spends the first two-and-a-half minutes congratulating his administration over a Native American conference and giving a shout out to an attendee, then slurs into the shooting without any kind of break to change topic.  Not even a stop for a new sentence. 

He also reads. every. single. word of his speech about the shooting.  Watch as he keeps looking down at the podium (were the teleprompters broken?).

 Can you imagine how the MSM would be covering this if it had been given by a Republican president? 

Where are the military men and women in this man’s priorities?

He ties it all together pretty well, I think…

Do you agree? Have we become a society of spoiled brats? If so, how do we turn things around now? And do we actually have the will to do so?

Okay, God won’t really enter into this post, but I’ll give Him credit for slowing down the insanity coming from the warming enthusiasts.   It’s now ten years and counting of steady or falling temperatures worldwide.

Oh wait, that’s where the sun comes in.   Not fully understood, there is a correlation between the sun’s energy and the earth’s temperature.  It shines on us and we get warm; it has sun spots and gets more active and puts out more energy and we get warmer.  And that current lengthy period of no sun spots? – it gets lengthier every day.  And trends cooler.

Maybe that’s why it’s no longer called global warming, but “climate change.”  You can’t go wrong with that one, because the weather is always changing.  And if you claim that any changes in weather mean man is evil and destroying the earth, you can’t go wrong, can you?

Meanwhile, the global warming summit in Copenhagen is only weeks away and the U.S. Congress seems to have come to some semblance of sanity by not passing cap and trade or any sweeping legislation to save the planet leading up to it.  Dare I hope this continues?

Poor U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who made a climate treaty his top priority, has had to scale back expectations for a comprehensive climate treaty to steal money from developed countries save the earth when they all Kum-By-Ya in Copenhagen.  At least he’s encouraged by the “strong commitment of the Obama administration,” bless their hearts.  And he’s in the U.S. right now, encouraging our political leaders to get on board.

While the adults head feint and pretend man can control the weather, what is all this doing to the children?  Isn’t that supposed to be our primary concern, the children?  Everything the government does is for “the children,” right?

In this case, what they are doing borders on child abuse.

Someone recently left a comment on the all-time most viewed post on this blog, and it sure looks like it came from a child to me.

I wish people would just listen. I’m so mad that people don’t even care about the polar bears and that the sea level is rising. And also that the plants are dead because of us. If we don’t do something about it then we all are going to die with them. I just wish there was a way to stop the global warming.

Last week global warmers in New Zealand suggested we get edible pets, and this week Climate chief Lord Stern from London tells us we have to give up eating meat.  And the brainwashed children think we are all going to die.

Call your congressman and your senator.  Tell them to fight against this insanity and stop frightening our children, and for God’s sake don’t vote for a destructive cap and trade bill. 

After all, it is God who controls the weather, not man.

Rep. Michele Bachmann from Minnesota offered sound advice this morning during an interview with Lee Rodgers on KSFO (audio here and MP3 here) in San Francisco, on how to turn back the various healthcare proposals working their way through Congress.

The key she says is call volume — old-fashioned telephone call volume.  Every morning, Monday through Friday she advises us to call our Congressional delegation, our two Senators and Congressional Representative, with the goal of achieving 10,000 calls every day.  With staff tied up just answering this volume of calls, there is no way that healthcare can survive.  And if it stalls in 2009, then the upcoming elections of 2010 guarantee its death and our freedom

To those desperate for a specific call to action, this is it.  This is your answer to “what can I do.”

Rep. Bachmann, a tax litigator by profession, explained in a way I never heard before why this defeat is necessary.

She cites a University of Arizona economics professor who estimates that fully 30% of private US corporate profits are now owned by the government, thanks to the Obama takeover of AIG, GM, Citigroup, etc. Before Obama’s election 100% of corporate profits were private.  If healthcare is taken over by the government add 14% to that figure.  If cap and trade then passes add another 8%. 

Sum those figures and suddenly 52% of profits in our country are government-owned.  We will have become a socialist country, not in temperament, or leaning but in fact.

Rep. Bachman is the top target for defeat of Speaker Pelosi, and needs national support from the conservative base. (http://www.michelebachmann.com/)  Rep. Bachmann and people like her are the future of the Republican Party, if it has one.
